Occupational therapists help patients improve their ability to perform tasks in living and working environments. They work with individuals who suffer from a mentally, physically, developmentally, or emotionally disabling condition.
Occupational therapists use treatments to develop, recover, or maintain the daily living and work skills of their patients. The therapist helps clients not only to improve their basic motor functions and reasoning abilities, but also to compensate for permanent loss of function. The goal is to help clients have independent, productive, and satisfying lives.
Our Occupational therapists help clients to perform all types of activities, from using a computer to caring for daily needs such as dressing, cooking, and eating. Physical exercises may be used to increase strength and dexterity, while other activities may be chosen to improve visual acuity or the ability to discern patterns. For example, a client with short-term memory loss might be encouraged to make lists to aid recall, and a person with coordination problems might be assigned exercises to improve hand-eye coordination.
The Occupational therapists also use computer programs to help clients improve decision-making, abstract-reasoning, problem-solving, and perceptual skills, as well as memory, sequencing, and coordination—all of which are important for independent living.

The physical therapist typically works closely with other health care professionals, such as nurses, physicians, social workers, and occupational therapists, in order to refine both diagnosis and treatment. This interdisciplinary approach allows for integration of all domains of health to more fully address the needs of the elderly. Patients may include accident victims and individuals with disabling conditions such as low back pain, fractures, head injuries, arthritis, heart disease, and cerebral palsy.
We provide the following services:
Premier DDS aims to provide each client with timely medical care, humane treatment and person-centered support so that they may gain independence, and pursue optimal recovery at home and in the community.
Personal Emergency Response Unit: Provides peace of mind and security for the homebound elderly and disabled persons by enabling them to easily summon help in the event of a physical, emotional or environmental emergency. To activate emergency help, they simply press a small, lightweight activator that is generally worn around the neck.
As you grow older, your vocal cords become less elastic and your larynx muscles weaken. This makes it difficult for many elderly people to speak as they once did, and it makes it more difficult for those around them to understand what they are saying. Furthermore, post-stroke Speech therapy can help teach the patient to speak in a new way, with vocal exercises that will help them communicate more effectively. This benefits both the family and the patient tremendously.
Our In-home services are designed to ensure each beneficiary reaches his or her maximum health outcome. They provide needed interaction and activities whilst helping to relieve stress and worry.
